LG provided relief to Cainta and Marikina residents

LG Electronics is a known leader in home appliances and electronics in the world and has given necessary help to the communities of Barangay Planters and Barangay Anak Pawis 2 in Westbank Drive, Cainta Rizal from August 1 to 3, and Barangay Malanday in Marikina City last August 9 to 11, 2024.

Residents who were badly damaged by Typhoon Carina were eligible for a free three-day laundry service and appliance inspection as part of the project.

LG deployed a mobile laundry station in the middle of the barangays as part of its continuous commitment to CSR and community service, offering vital support to families still getting over the devastation caused by the storm. LG provided free laundry services by setting up 11 washer and dryer machines that were open from 8 AM to 5 PM. This allowed the community to have access to clean their clothes when it was essentially needed.

A total of 131 families in Barangay Planters and 149 families in Barangay Anak Pawis 2 received assistance from the service camp; this helped 280 families in total from both barangays. An extra 287 families from Barangay Malanday got assistance in Marikina, raising the total number of families LG's effort has helped to 567.

LG noted residents were able to easily have their clothes cleaned and dried for free thanks to the mobile laundry stations, which were outfitted with cutting-edge washers and dryers. In addition, LG's team of knowledgeable experts provided free service checks, small repairs, and even a discount on washer parts for household appliances, supporting families in getting their homes restored to working normally it was.

Abenson and its sales/service partner, Smile Serve, also supported the LG Service Camp and assisted families hit by the typhoon. Abenson launched its CSR effort, Abenson Project Cares, by distributing laundry detergents, fabric conditioners, and folding fans to the families who participated.

Through this initiative, we aimed to provide practical help and a sense of comfort to the residents of Cainta and Marikina. It’s our way of showing that LG is a partner in the journey to recovery and resilience, said Mr. Nakhyun Seong, LG Philippines Managing Director.

Finally, LG Electronics reassures its consumers' continuous commitment to support communities in need and is going to look for ways to expand its services and provide relief to other areas hit by natural disasters in the Philippines.
