Helio G100, a minor updrade?

For starters, our suspicions are correct. This is still mostly similar to the popular Helio G99 chip for budget phones released in 2022.

The chip uses an octa-core setup fabbed under the 6nm manufacturing process consisting of 2x 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The GPU is ARM Mali-G57 MC2.

It also supports up to LPDDR4X RAM, up to UFS 2.2 storage, and FHD+ 2520 x 1080 120Hz resolution displays.

The max LTE category is Cat-13 DL. It also has WiFi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), GNSS (GPS, QZSS, Galileo, BeiDou, NavIC), and Bluetooth 5.2.

So, what's new?

But, despite having a similar configuration. TECNO's website claims that it has a 7 percent CPU performance boost.

The chip's 3x ISP now supports up to 200MP cameras while taking advantage of 2.2um pixel binning. It also has hardware dual camera support and lossless in-sensor zoom combined with Portrait lenses.

According to MediaTek, it'll allow smartphone designs to use the 200MP sensors for detailed daylight photos, clear night shots, and highly detailed bokeh captures in various multi-camera designs.

The other update is the new "Elevator Mode" which enables the cellular modem to reestablish a connection quicker when emerging from spaces without coverage.
