The new chip improves CPU performance by 20 percent and features four Cortex-A720 cores and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores. These cores have a maximum clock speed of 2.5GHz, 2.4GHz, and 1.8GHz.

Perhaps more evident is the 40 percent increase in graphics rendering speed of the new GPU. Qualcomm has not revealed the official branding, but it is perceived as "Adreno 810".

Meanwhile, the unofficial GPU name appears to be a higher number than flagships. Don't get your hopes up as it is not more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is using. Keep in mind that it is still a mid-range SoC.

It's just Qualcomm has become strange in their GPU naming pattern ever since they dropped the digit series and replaced it with the Gen series.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 likewise embraces the 2024 trend of utilizing AI. Qualcomm claims a 30 percent increase in AI performance, as well as support for features such as multilingual translation and on-device AI models.

Another improvement has been made to the imaging section, the chip supports up to 200MP sensor, 64MP single capture, and triple-camera setups that can shoot 21MP per sensor. The processor supports 4K HDR video recording, but not 4K/60fps, and slow-motion films are limited to 120fps at 1080p.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm also noted the chip is 12 percent more efficient in power draw versus the 7s Gen 2.

Wrapping up the bundle are features expected of a mid-range processor in 2024. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 comes with a 4nm TSMC design, Bluetooth 5.4 connection, different AptX codecs, max downlink speeds of 2.9Gbps, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology alongside WiFi 6E.

Xiaomi will be the first brand to introduce the said chip in the upcoming Redmi Note 14 lineup this coming September and it will be followed by Samsung, realme, and Sharp.
