Telco giant Globe said it has rolled out its 5G services in 256 new sites in the first half of the year. Its 5G network now covers 98.45 percent of the National Capital Region and 94.19 percent of key cities in Visayas and Mindanao, demonstrating its commitment to widespread 5G availability.
Our aggressive 5G rollout across the country is a crucial part of our strategy to ensure that the Philippines is at the forefront of digital transformation, said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP and Head of Service Planning and Engineering. We are proud to see how our investments are resulting in positive change, enabling our customers to enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are.
Globe also said that expanding its 5G network demonstrates its commitment to providing Filipinos faster and more reliable internet access.
In June 2024, Globe registered over 7 million devices connected to Globe's 5G network.
Beyond its domestic expansion, Globe has partnered with 167 operators in 87 destinations to offer 5G roaming services.
The telco said these partnerships enable its customers to experience high-speed data domestically and internationally, solidifying Globe's position as a global telecom leader.
