Kia EV9 GT-Line launched in PH: dual-electric motors, 99.8kWh lithium-ion battery, 505 km range, PHP 5.888M starting price

Kia Philippines and ACMobility introduced the highly anticipated flagship Kia EV9 GT-Line performance luxury electric SUV in the Philippines.

Performance and luxury in one electric SUV

At the Philippine International Motor Show, Kia and its official distributor AC Mobility unveiled what the brand claims to be the merging of cutting-edge technology with premium features that will supposedly redefine luxury for both modern families and first-class executives.

As Kia's flagship electric vehicle, the EV9 offers customers a rare combination of performance and luxury. It is powered by dual electric motors that deliver 384 PS and 700 Nm of torque allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5 seconds. The engine is powerful enough to allow the car a towing capacity of 2,268kg.

Inside is the 99.8kWh lithium-ion battery that is rated for 505 kilometers. It comes with an 11kW AC charger and a 350kW DC fast charger which charges the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 24 minutes.

The car's luxurious cabin comes with a massive 12.3-inch display for both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Around the cabin are 14 Meridian surround sound speaker systems.

It is configured with 2 + 2 + 2 seating that offers ample space and comfort and is made more luxurious with premium leather seats that are supposedly made of sustainable materials. The front passenger seats come with 8-way power and 2-way lumbar support while the second-row seats come with a massage feature.

A tri-zone automatic climate control system cools down the interiors to make it both a comfortable and relaxing journey.

Its DriveWise suite of safety systems includes Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and a Blind View Monitor. Additional features include forward collision avoidance assist 2.0, Safe Exit Assist, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor to ensure effortless maneuvering and peace of mind. Passive safety features include ten airbags, multi-collision brake systems, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, and an anti-theft system.

The car measures 5,015 x 1,980 x 1,780 mm and weighs 3,190 kg. It has a ground clearance of 177 and a turning radius of 6.19 meters. 

Customers can choose from either Ocean Blue, Snow White Pearl, or Aurora Black Pearl colorways.

Each includes a 5-year or 160,000-km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000-km warranty for the electric motors and battery.

It will be available for viewing and purchase at the Kia New Manila, Kia Pampanga, Kia Alabang, and Kia Otis. Orders and reservations are accepted at all 40 Kia dealerships nationwide.
