A seamless experience for hotel guests
The new LG product enables hotel guests to stream content from their devices directly to the TV, enhancing convenience and security for accessing OTT services.
The TV maker says this innovation strengthens LG's position in the hospitality TV market, a key focus for its growing B2B business.
LG Hotel TVs with Google Cast will deliver a seamless entertainment experience for guests” said Tiger Lan, senior director of engineering for multi-device experiences at Google. “We’re excited to see LG’s momentum in bringing this seamless casting integration to the hospitality industry, providing travelers with the familiar comforts of home while on the go, said LG
Beginning January 10, LG Hotel TVs running webOS23 or later now support Google Cast, incorporating hotel-specific features. The technology uses network isolation to ensure privacy between rooms. To stream content, guests simply scan a QR code displayed on the TV screen, eliminating the need to enter personal information or log into OTT apps. The connection stays active throughout their stay and is automatically cleared upon check-out, offering a secure and hassle-free experience.
Furthermore, the company says it continues to expand in the hospitality sector with tailored solutions like hotel TVs, software, and digital signage. In 2023, LG launched the first hotel TV with AirPlay, followed by a global rollout in 2024.
Many hotel guests nowadays wish to stream their favorite content from a personal device to their in-room TV,” said Paik Ki-mun, head of the Information Display Business of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “With LG Hotel TVs integrating Google Cast, they can enjoy a secure and convenient content-streaming experience, just like they’re used to at home. We will continue to strengthen our leadership in the hospitality TV market and enhance our B2B sector strategies.
With Google Cast added, LG’s hotel TVs now uniquely support both AirPlay and Google Cast making it another first-in-the-world feature. Additionally, LG’s Pro: Centric solution allows hotels to customize room content, displayed automatically upon check-in.
At ISE 2025, LG’s booth will include a hotel-themed exhibition space titled “Transforming Stays into Memorable Hospitality Experiences,” showcasing its Hotel TVs with Google Cast for visitors to explore.
