Xiaomi CEO teases 1st photo of Xiaomi 15 Ultra's 200MP periscope sensor

Xiaomi 15 Ultra is launching this month as the CEO himself teases its first photo.

A legit camera zoom contender?

The company did not reveal the exact date but has confirmed an Ultra model will be official within February.

The brand's CEO Lei Jun showed the phone's zoom capability to produce high-quality sharp photos using 100mm with f/2.6 aperture, 1/25s shutter speed, and ISO 5000.

Unfortunately, the photo did not reveal the exact resolution but the image was shot in 12MP mode. This is presumably the 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope shooter that was leaked before.

This is a 1/1.4-inch sensor that uses 4x4 pixel binning technology to improve low-light performance, resulting in detailed and clear telephoto images in low-light conditions. It is also believed to include 4.3x optical zoom and 100x AI-enhanced digital zoom, making it one of the most advanced periscope telephoto cameras on the market.

Anyway, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to feature three more sensors apart from the periscope such as the 50MP Sony LYT900, 50MP Sony IMX858 3x telephoto, and 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide camera.

Finally, the flagship is also rumored to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging, and will run on HyperOS 2.0.
