Canon launches PowerShot V1 compact vlogging cam w/ new 1.4-inch CMOS sensor, built-in cooling fan

Canon recently launched a new compact camera designed for vlogging with plenty of premium features for the size.

The new camera boasts a new 1.4-inch CMOS sensor with 22.3MP resolution with better low-light shooting than V10, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for improved focus, and a fixed 16-50mm (stills) or 17-52(video) f/2.8 to f/4.5 retractable zoom lens.

It also has a 10-bit Canon Log 3 gamma recording for color grading, a built-in 3-stop ND filter for exposure control in bright conditions, 14 color filters, and a built-in cooling fan, allowing its users to record video or stream for over 2 hours at 4K 30p. This can record cropped 4K 60p videos as well.

Moreover, it has a windjammer dead cat windshield to reduce unwanted noise for better audio records, a tally lamp to provide a cue that it is already recording a video, and a fully articulating LCD touchscreen.

Canon also claims that it has an ergonomically designed grip. The buttons for zoom, recording, and shutter are also easy to reach with just one hand.

The camera connects via USB-C and can be used for video calls or streaming. You can also connect it to your smartphone using the Canon Camera Connect app.

The device measures 118.3 x 68.0 x 52.5 mm and weighs 426 grams.

In the US, the camera is priced at USD 900 (around PHP 51K). There is no word on its local release yet. But, Canon Philippines is already starting to tease the new PowerShot V1.
