Yuchengco Group and Ayala Corporation's iPeople Inc. expand partnerships with Coursera to bring AI-powered tools to Mapua educators and students.

AI tools delivered to 45,000 students
This expanded collaboration between iPeople Inc. and Coursera is said to impact several campuses including Mapua University, Mapua Malayan College Laguna, Mapua Malayan College Mindanao, Mapua Malayan Digital College, University of Nueva Caceres and National Teacher's College.
The move allows students to earn 20 to 30 percent of their academic credits through Coursera Courses. This further embeds industry micro-credentials into their degrees.
Over 38,000 students at iPeople schools have supposedly amassed over 260,000 employments and clocked over 760,000 learning hours, gaining critical skills in AI, data, cybersecurity, project management and leadership. iPeople also received Coursera's Global Maximizing Impact Award in 2024, recognizing its leadership in integrating technology, skill-based learning and AI-powered education at scale.

Mapua University has achieved the second-highest number of enrollments in GenAI courses among Coursera for Campus partners in Asia. People is now embedding Coursera's industry-leading AI-powered tools across all institutions to enhance teaching, personalize learning and scale interactive education:
1. Coursera Coach - Is an AI-powered learning assistant which provides students with real-time guidance grounded in high-quality content, helping them master complex concepts and apply learnings effectively.
2. Course Builder - It enables Faculty to easily and rapidly design custom courses tailored to the Philippines' regional context, fostering a more adaptive and impactful learning experience. Mapua University's pilot course, "Introduction to Generative AI and Prompt Engineering," leverages content from IBM, DeepLearning.AI, and AWS and has engaged over 10,000 students and faculty.
3. AI-driven Academic Integrity Solutions - This includes plagiarism detection, automated grading, and graded-item locking, ensuring verified and authentic learning outcomes, boosting academic rigour and the value of digital credentials.
With this expanded partnership, the two educational platforms are reaffirming their commitment to supposedly foster a world-class educational system in the Philippines that not only bridges the skills gap but also positions in the Philippines as a leader in AI-powered learning and workforce development.
