New massive 410MP sensors

To recap, this has the most pixels yet on a full-frame sensor. Contrary to what others believe, this sensor (LI8030SA) is not for traditional photography, but for work in science and bespoke industrial applications.

Canon explains that it is a CMOS-type solid-state imaging sensor with a size equivalent to full-size 35mm, with a square pixel arrangement of 1.5μm, with 410 million effective pixels.

It is available in two versions: LI8030SAM (monochrome) and LI8030SAC (color).

In comparison, it is 198 times greater in detail than a full high-definition resolution and 49 times higher than 4K.

It is also capable of achieving a super-high readout speed of 3,280 megapixels per second, delivering video at 8 frames per second.

Meanwhile, the LI8030SAM (monochrome) sensor supports a binning readout function of 4pixels that can achieve 24fps with 100 million pixels.

The LI8030SA Series is still under development, but Canon is now accepting information requests from interested parties.
