PH places 72nd in the list of most powerful passports in 2025

Singapore remains on top

The Philippines ranked 72nd in this year's Henley Passport Index, which ranks the most powerful passports around the world.

According to the index, the country landed on the 72nd spot, thanks to its visa-free access to 65 out of 227 destinations in the world.

Manila's latest ranking was a slight improvement from placing 73rd in 2024.

Meanwhile, Singapore continued to hold the top spot, with visa-free access to 193 destinations.

The city-state is followed by Japan and South Korea, tied in second place with 190 visa-free destinations.

In third place, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain all tied with 189 visa-free destinations.

Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden all landed in fourth place, with visa-free access to 188 destinations.

Completing the top spots are Greece, New Zealand, and Switzerland, all landing fifth place with 187 visa-free destinations.

The Henley Passport Index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA). It covers 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.
