The new processors were unveiled during the Apple Keynote in September 2025. These SoCs are built on TSMC's 3nm N3P process for improved performance and efficiency.

According to Apple, the chips deliver 4 percent higher transistor density, 15 percent performance boost, and 30 percent lower power draw from the A18 series.

Both processors have a 6-core design comprising 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Although the A19 Pro has improved branch prediction and a 50 percent larger last-level cache.

Apple shared that the A19 chip is 1.5x faster than the A15 Bionic, while the A19 Pro has up to a 20 percent performance leap over the A18 Pro.

In the graphics department, the A19 uses a 5-core GPU with Ray Tracing, mesh shading, and MetalFX upscaling, making it 2x faster compared to the A15 Bionic.

The A19 Pro has a higher 6-core GPU (5-core for iPhone 17 Air due to thermals) with 2nd gen Dynamic Caching, bringing 2x 16-bit floating point performance for AI and graphics.

Both devices use a 16-core Neural Engine with 35 trillion operations per second, 15 percent faster for Apple Intelligence and computational photography.

Apple also claimed that the A19 Pro's neural accelerators in GPU cores bring MacBook Pro-level AI compute.

Connectivity supports WiFi7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread thanks to the N1 wireless chip.
