HUAWEI MatePad Mini launched: 120Hz 8.8-inch OLED, 5.1mm thick, 50MP camera, and 6,400mAh battery

HUAWEI introduced the new MatePad Mini premium compact tablet with a 120Hz flexible OLED, a 50MP rear camera, and a 6,400mAh battery in China.

The new tablet comes in the Obsidian Black, Snow White, or Spruce Green colorways, and it measures 198.6 x 127.3 x 5.1mm. It weighs 255 grams while carrying a 6,400mAh battery. HUAWEI is advertising that the tablet is able to endure 15 hours of video playback. It fast-charges with the 66W SuperCharge via USB-C.

In front is the 8.8-inch Flexible OLED screen with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, a 1,800-nit peak brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 10-bit color and is HDR Vivid certified.

Inside is an unknown chipset alongside 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB of storage.

At the back are the 50MP f/1.8 main camera and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, while in front is the 32MP f/2.4 front-facing camera.

On the power button is the fingerprint scanner, and the tablet is compatible with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro.

Running the show is HarmonyOS 5.1. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, WLAN, stereo speakers, dual microphones, and USB-C 3.0.

Users have the option to upgrade to the Soft Light screen for an additional CNY 500 (around PHP 4K). 

It is now available for purchase in China through V-mall, HUAWEI stores, and HUAWEI authorized distributors.
