Filipinos need 101 days to afford a new iPhone 17 Pro

The Philippines is among the countries where citizens need to work over 100 days to buy a new Pro iPhone.

A new study has revealed that Filipinos will need to work for 101 days to afford the latest iPhone 17 Pro (256 GB).

According to Tenscope, this was based on an average monthly wage of USD 308 or around PHP 17,595.60 and average weekly working hours of 40 in the Philippines. The country ranked second among 33 countries in the iPhone Affordability Index 2025.

The Philippines ranked on top, along with India, where workers need 160 days to afford the latest Apple device.

Completing the top five are Vietnam, wherein workers need 99 days to afford the iPhone, Türkiye with 89 days, and Brazil with 77 days.

Meanwhile, it takes only 3 days of work in Luxembourg to be able to afford the iPhone 17 Pro. This means that a worker in India must work 51 times longer than someone in Luxembourg to afford the same phone.

Among Asian countries in the list, Singaporeans need the shortest working days at 8 days to afford the newest Apple flagship model.

Across all countries studied, it takes about 26 days to be able to afford the iPhone 17 Pro.

Apple just launched its latest iPhone 17 Series. Specifically, the iPhone 17 Pro uses a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR panel, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 6.9 inches. Both support 1-120Hz ProMotion and 3,000 nits peak brightness.

The screen glass has a 7-layer anti-reflective coating as well.

Under the hood, it is powered by the new 3nm Apple A19 Pro chip alongside the new N1 networking chip, enabling WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity.

Memory for both models starts at 256GB. But for the first time, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has up to 2TB of massive internal storage.
