Xiaomi is launching its flagship number series soon and will introduce the "Pro Max" model as its top-end variant.

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max in China later this month. The company is skipping the number 16 in its naming sequence, a move reportedly intended to align its model numbers more closely with Apple's latest release.

An image of the rear design for the 17 Pro Max was briefly posted by Xiaomi's official Weibo account before being removed. This also means that the phone maker is dropping the "Ultra" naming.

The image confirms the presence of a rumored rear screen and matches design details leaked recently. The brief post could indicate an accidental early post or may be part of an official teaser campaign for the new series.

All three models are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, following Qualcomm's recent confirmation of the processor's name. 

Reports suggest the standard 17 and 17 Pro will share a similar size, with the Pro model expected to offer enhanced camera capabilities and a potentially superior display. The 17 Pro Max is anticipated to be a larger variant of the Pro model.
