HONOR 500 Series launched: 7.75mm slim, 8,000mAh battery, up to Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC

On schedule, HONOR launched the promising HONOR 500 Series.

The new line of smartphones includes the HONOR 500 and the HONOR 500 Pro.

Despite their mid-range label, these are premium-looking devices in design and specs.

As expected, the new phones feature a design inspired by the slimness and frame of the Apple iPhone Air and the camera island of the Google Pixel 8.

The phones also feature an impressive-looking 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, 1.5K 2736 x 1264 resolution, and 6,000 nits peak brightness. The display also highlights 1.05mm ultra-narrow bezels and an In-Display fingerprint reader (Ultrasonic for Pro, optical for the regular model).

The body comes with an IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance rating.

Under the hood, the HONOR 500 uses Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, while the HONOR 500 Pro uses the more powerful 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with Adreno GPU.

The phones are paired with either 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage.

The most impressive part? While the phones are just 7.75mm slim, HONOR was able to pack them with a massive 8,000mAh battery capacity for a legit 2-3 day battery life and USB-C 80W fast charging. The Pro model even supports 50W Wireless SuperCharge.

In the camera department, the phones have a 200MP f/1.9 AF main shooter with OIS and a 12MP f/2.2 AF ultra-wide camera with 2.5cm macro. The Pro model even packs a 50MP f/2.4 3x portrait telephoto camera with OIS.

For selfies, both phones are equipped with a 50MP f/2.0 shooter with a 3D depth camera.

Other features of the phones include stereo speakers, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS (L1+L5), and dual nano SIM slots.

The phone runs on Android 16 with MagicOS 10.0 with plenty of AI tricks.
