Simply link Maya to the Google Wallet app

Maya has recently launched support for Google Pay contactless payments using its credit cards in the Philippines.

Android users can now enable true tap-and-go functionality by simply linking their Maya Credit Card to the Google Wallet application. This allows for secure transactions at any NFC-enabled terminal accepting Visa or Mastercard contactless payments globally.

Maya said this new service directly addresses the friction points currently slowing down mobile transactions for Filipinos, who already use their phones for the majority of their daily errands and communications.

Until now, mobile payments often involve steps such as scanning QR codes, waiting for SMS confirmations, and relying on cashiers for verification, turning a quick stop into a time-consuming exercise.

The integration makes Maya one of the first local banks to offer this level of next-generation payment technology.

The service is set to be further improved with the upcoming launch of a dedicated "Tap to Pay" feature within the Maya app itself.

Despite the simplified process, users retain the benefits they are accustomed to, including instant Maya Miles for the Maya Black Credit Card and Cashback with the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card.

To drive adoption of this new, faster payment method, Maya and Visa are offering promotional perks, starting with a PHP 50 discount on drinks at PickUp Coffee when users Tap to Pay with their Maya Credit Card via Google Pay.
