DJI and other banned in the US

This means that the world's largest drone maker, DJI of China, Autel Robotics, and other drone makers are no longer allowed to sell their new drones in the United States.

Existing models that are already approved for sale and already in use are excluded from this new rule.

Future growth of those companies will be restricted; US drone firms may benefit from this ruling.

The announcement was probably triggered by last year’s passage of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act, which ordered a security review of DJI, Autel, and other foreign-made drones by December 23, 2025.

To recap, US lawmakers fear DJI tech could hand Beijing a backdoor into American infrastructure.

CNN reported that Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian called the FCC listing discriminatory.

The US first included DJI on its "Entity List" in 2022.
