HUAWEI nova 15 Ultra is official: Kirin 9010S SoC, LTPO screen, 4x 50MP cameras

Just weeks after the release of the nova 14 Series in the Philippines, tech giant HUAWEI unveiled the nova 15 Ultra in China.

The handset features the new "dual-ring" design at the back and an IP68 + 69 rating for dust and water resistance. It is available in Dark Green, Purple, Zero-Degree White, and Fantasy Black.

The display features a Kunlun glass-protected 6.84-inch LTPO OLED screen w/ 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2856 x 1320 resolution, and 4,000 nits peak brightness. It also has a pill-shaped punch-hole cutout housing the 50MP primary selfie camera and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor.

Inside, the handset is powered by the new Kirin 9010S chip, an upgrade coming from the Kirin 8020 of the nova 14 Pro. According to the company, this has an 18 percent boost in performance.

Storage options start at 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The silicon-carbon battery is 6,500mAh with USB-C 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

In the camera department, this phone features three 50MP RYYB sensors. The main 50MP camera has a variable aperture f/1.4-4.0 with OIS paired with a 50MP 118-degree ultra-wide camera, and another 50MP telephoto periscope sensor with 3.7x optical zoom.

It connects via WiFi, Bluetooth 6.0, and GNSS (GPS). The handset also has satellite connectivity.

The HUAWEI nova 15 Ultra runs with HarmonyOS 6.0 out of the box.

The phone measures 163 x 78 x 6.8mm and weighs just 209 grams.
