Faster, affordable, and reliable payments
A new partnership between payments provider Starpago and digital finance platform Coins.ph aims to simplify how businesses manage digital transactions and payouts in the Philippines. The collaboration offers a unified solution for collecting and disbursing funds within the country.
The service allows businesses to accept payments from customers using the Philippines' national QR Ph standard.
Funds can then be routed for near-instant payout to local bank accounts and e-wallets via established networks like InstaPay and PESONet.
The arrangement is designed to address challenges historically associated with moving money in the Philippine market, which can involve multiple service providers and slower processing times.
Regulatory compliance and security form a core component of the partnership. Coins.ph operates under licenses from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as a Virtual Asset Service Provider and Electronic Money Issuer. Starpago brings its ISO 27001 certification and encryption protocols to the joint offering.
The service is currently live, initially supporting Philippine Peso (PHP) transactions for businesses such as e-commerce platforms, gig economy companies, and SMEs.
Future development plans include expanding the model to support additional currencies. A potential second phase, tentatively slated for mid-2026, could incorporate Thai Baht and Brazilian Real transactions through Coins.xyz operations in Thailand and Brazil.
Company executives framed the partnership as a move to enhance financial connectivity.
Our mission at Starpago has always been to simplify the complexity of global trade by building smarter payment rails," said Jeremille Raton, Philippine Representative of Starpago. "By partnering with Coins.ph, we are giving global businesses a 'local advantage' in the Philippines. We are combining our global reach with our partner’s deep local roots to ensure that moving money into and out of the country is as simple and convenient.
Coins.ph CEO Wei Zhou welcomed the collaboration saying "This partnership is a perfect example of how we are evolving beyond a traditional wallet into a comprehensive financial gateway."
By integrating Starpago’s global capabilities with our local infrastructure, we are enabling an enhanced experience for businesses—offering both high-level financial access and everyday utility. We are excited to help more businesses and Filipinos connect to the global economy through faster, cheaper, and more reliable payment flows, Zhou added.
