Making online space safe
Globe assured its support and cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC)
regarding the blocking of the gaming platform Roblox.
The telco giant said it will comply with the directive as it actively participates in making the online space safe for children.
In particular, Globe advocates protecting the youth from grave digital harms, specifically the risks associated with Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), the company said.
Close coordination with authorities will be done as necessary filters against links, APIs, and IP addresses are also conducted, Globe said.
The telco said it remains vigilant and ready to update its technical barriers as necessary based on the discovery of new Roblox-related links to ensure the continued safety of customers.
