Sony launches ULT Tower Max, 7, and 5 speakers in PH, starts at PHP 22.2K

Sony has expanded its ULT POWER SOUND lineup with three new speakers—the ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7, and ULT TOWER 5.

These audio devices are aimed at users who host parties, DJ sets, or karaoke sessions. The new models were developed with input from hip-hop producers and are built around a redesigned circular woofer, larger speaker cabinets, and an updated ULT DUCT system intended to improve low-frequency output.

Sony says the new lineup was refined in collaboration with several hip-hop sound creators, including producer Dot Da Genius, drummer and musical director Daru Jones, producer and DJ Dready, and audio engineer Dennis "ROC.am" Jones. 

According to Sony, feedback from these collaborators shaped tuning decisions aimed at deeper bass, stronger impact, and clearer vocal reproduction.

ULT 5

Each speaker includes Sony's ULT button, offering four sound modes: ULT1 and ULT2 for varying degrees of bass emphasis, FLAT for a source-accurate profile, and a new LIVE mode designed to simulate the ambience of a live performance while preserving vocal clarity.

Meanwhile, the LIVE mode can be assigned to the ULT button through the Sony | Sound Connect app, which also offers a Custom EQ feature for further sound adjustment.

ULT TOWER MAX

On the other hand, the ULT TOWER MAX is the top model in the series. It features three woofers—two front-facing and one rear-facing- along with four tweeters and mid-range drivers, powered by an amplifier rated up to 2,150 watts.

Along with the ULT TOWER 7, it supports Sony's 360° Party Sound feature, which is designed to project audio evenly around the speaker rather than in a single direction.

The ULT TOWER 7 offers up to 420 watts of output, while the more compact ULT TOWER 5 offers up to 300 watts, made for smaller gatherings and portable use. 

Both the ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating when used vertically with the port cover closed, making them suitable for outdoor use.

Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours for the ULT TOWER 7 and up to 20 hours for the ULT TOWER 5, based on Sony's standard test conditions.

All three models include an updated Sound Field Optimization feature that adjusts overall sound balance and not just bass—based on speaker placement and ambient noise.

The new speakers also include XLR, RCA, and USB-C inputs for DJ setups, along with support for stereo pairing between compatible units for larger events. 

Sony's optional ULTMIC1 microphone can be connected for karaoke use. The new Party Chain feature uses Bluetooth Auracast broadcast technology to link multiple compatible Sony speakers, synchronizing both audio and lighting across units.

Lighting effects were also added across the range, with three selectable modes: BEAT, which syncs lighting to the music's rhythm; WAVE, offering ambient effects for social settings; and MELLOW, a slower pattern intended for low-key listening.

Partnership with Red Bull Dance Your Style

Sony also announced a sponsorship agreement with Red Bull for the 2026 Dance Your Style series, serving as the official wireless speaker partner for the National Final USA in September and the World Final in Switzerland in October.
