Groundbreaking held for NAIA Terminal 3 subway station, first airport mass transit link

The station is expected to cut travel time from Valenzuela City to the airport to 40 minutes.

New renders have been released of the 2.413-kilometer MMSP-NAIA Terminal 3 Station, the country's first airport mass transit link, part of Contract Package 109 of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).

Once the full 33-kilometer, 17-station subway system is completed, travel time from Valenzuela City to NAIA Terminal 3 is expected to drop to just 40 minutes, down from the current one hour and 35 minutes.

The NAIA T3 station is expected to serve around 70,000 passengers daily by 2035, rising to 74,000 by 2045.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the MMSP-NAIA T3 station was held on September 16, marking the start of construction on the underground station and its connected tunnels. The event was also described as a major step toward the full completion of the MMSP, which is expected to provide commuters with a more convenient, faster, and more reliable rail transport system.
