Link your card, skip cash-in

GCash now lets users connect an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card to their account and use it to pay by scanning a QRPH code through Scan QR, with the payment charged directly to the linked card at supported merchants instead of requiring users to load their GCash wallet first.

The feature is currently available to Android users and is being rolled out gradually.

Before you start, make sure your GCash account is Fully Verified and that you have an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card. GCash-issued or GCash co-branded cards are not supported.

You should also have a stable internet connection and can receive OTPs or security prompts from your bank. E-commerce or online payments are enabled for your card through your card provider.

There are three ways to link your card.

Option 1: From Profile

  • Open the GCash app and log in
  • Tap Profile, then My Linked Accounts
  • Tap Credit/Debit Cards
  • Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
  • Enter your card details, then tap Confirm
  • Enter the OTP or complete your bank's security check

Option 2: From Cash In

On the GCash home screen, tap Cash In
Tap Link your Debit or Credit card
Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions, then tap Add a Card
Enter your card details and complete your bank's security check

Option 3: From the QR payment screen

If your card is already linked:

  • Tap QR and scan the merchant's QRPH code
  • On the payment screen, select your linked Visa or Mastercard card
  • Review the payment amount and any convenience fee
  • Tap Pay and complete the security check requested by your bank or device
  • Wait for the payment confirmation

If your card is not linked yet:

  • Tap QR and scan the merchant's QRPH code
  • On the payment screen, tap Add under Payment Methods.
  • Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
  • Enter your card details and complete your bank's security check

Once linked, your card appears as a linked payment method, which you can set as your default card or remove at any time.

Note that some transactions may include a convenience fee, shown before you confirm payment. Also, make sure your linked card has enough available balance or credit.

Your bank may require additional verification, such as an OTP, biometrics, or a security app prompt.
