At last, the new HONOR X9d 5G is now official in the Philippines, bringing substantial upgrades over its predecessor from last year.

New ultra-tough phone with nice upgrades

The new phone has an updated All-Angle Ultra Defense technology with a 2.5-meter drop resistance, an upgrade from the 2 meters last year. It has a metal frame, tempered glass, and a multilayer cushioning design with a ballistic-grade layer for enhanced shock absorption, resulting in a 112 percent improvement in impact durability versus the previous generation.

Moreover, it now features IP66/IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance—the industry's highest—capable of withstanding 85-degree Celsius water, 24 hours in salt-rich humidity, and 10,000 exposure cycles. It also offers One Tap Dust/Water Ejection, Rainproof Touch, and Glove-Friendly Touch Control.

Even the camera island is now protected with Gorilla Glass 7i.

In front, it has a 6.79-inch Aluminosilicate glass-protected AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, 1.5K 2640 x 1200 resolution at 427 ppi, an in-display fingerprint reader, and 6,000 nits of peak brightness.

Thin despite having a large 8,300mAh battery

Inside, the processor was updated from Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 to Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a noticeable leap in speed. It is paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The other major upgrade? The battery. From 6,600mAh last year, the new HONOR X9d 5G is now packed with a massive 8,300mAh Si-C battery capacity, the largest in the Philippines yet.

Keeping the performance in check, the device has a VC Ice Cooling System with 5th-gen hexagonal graphite with ultra-light stainless steel for faster and more efficient heat dissipation.

HONOR claims that this can last up to 3 days on a single charge. Speaking of charging, this device supports the USB-C 66W HONOR SuperCharge tech to quickly fill its battery.

The cameras

For cameras, it retains the 108MP f/1.75 with OIS and improved the depth sensor last year to a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter. In front, it has a 16MP f/2.45 camera.

The device runs with Android 15 OS with MagicOC 9.0 skin with HONOR AI and  Google Gemini.
