Samsung today launched its newest budget smartphone of the year in the Philippines, the Galaxy A07 5G.

A rare budget phone with 5G, but 64GB storage is back

The new Samsung Galaxy A07 5G arrived in Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer back with IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The device is also 8.2mm thick and 199 grams light. It is available Black and Light Violet colorways.

In front, it uses a 6.7-inch LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, 800 nits High Brightness Mode, and a top-center u-shaped notch housing the 8MP selfie camera with "enchanced clarity with minimal noise."

Inside, it is powered by an unspecified 6nm octa-core processor with 5G connectivity support for faster and more stable mobile internet download and upload speeds. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Sadly, 64GB is back as predicted this year due to the ongoing global memory shortage.

Thankfully, the Samsung increased the battery capacity of its predecessor from 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh. It charges via USB-C.

In the camera department, this budget 5G phone has a 50MP wide main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It is said to have an "advanced image processor" for better imaging and a "natural bokeh" effect thanks to its depth snapper.

It runs with Android OS with One UI 8.0 skin. Samsung promises 6 generations of Android OS ugprades and 6 years of security updates.

Other features of the phone include Google Gemini AI (voice + app assistance), Gemini Live for natural speech interaction, and Circle to Search with Google.

It also has Samsung Knox Vault with tamper-resistant hardware for extra security.
