What's new on the Galaxy S26 Ultra?
The new Galaxy S26 Ultra measures 78.1 x 163.6 x 7.9mm and weighs 214 grams, making it the slimmest Galaxy Ultra model yet. It is available in either Cobalt Violet, White, Black, or Sky Blue. It is IP68 dust and water-resistant.
It features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 3,120 x 1,440 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and S-Pen support. It is Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2 protected.
The standout new feature is the world's first built-in Privacy Display, which controls the pixel light dispersion to limit side-angle visibility. Users can activate it for sensitive tasks like entering PINs or opening apps, with options like Partial Screen Privacy for notifications or Maximum Privacy Protection for full discretion. This hardware-software synergy ensures privacy without compromising the viewing experience.
Inside is the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. Samsung claims that it offers a 19 percent faster CPU, 39 percent improved NPU, and 24 percent better GPU performance compared to its predecessor. This should enable smoother handling of AI tasks.
It is cooled by a redesigned Vapor Chamber that is supposedly more efficient in heat dissipation, ensuring consistent performance during intensive use.

In front is the 12MP f/2.2 selfie camera. All cameras work with the supposed improved AI ISP for natural skin tones in mixed lighting.
New and updated features on the camera app include Enhanced Nightography Video, upgraded Super Steady with horizontal lock, and APV professional-grade video codec (efficient, visually lossless compression), and an AI ISP improvements extending to the selfie camera for natural skin tones in mixed lighting.
Other features include 5G, LTE, WiFi 7, WiFi Direct, and Bluetooth 6.0.

Bixby has also been upgraded to a conversational agent for natural device control, with integration for Gemini and Perplexity for multi-step tasks like booking rides.
These new features require a Samsung Account and may vary by region, but they aim to make interactions effortless.
Samsung Knox provides multi-layer protection, with Personal Data Engine for secure on-device AI, Knox Vault isolates sensitive data, and new features like Call screening summarize unknown calls, while Privacy Alerts flag unnecessary app access.
