More premium sound now in PH

Sony has launched the WF-1000XM6, its latest flagship true wireless earbuds, two years after the release of the previous model.

According to the company, the new earbuds feature a 25 percent improvement in noise cancellation compared to the WF-1000XM5, with an emphasis on reducing mid-to-high frequency sounds commonly encountered in daily settings.

The product is available in Black and Platinum Silver, following Sony’s minimalist design language.

The WF-1000XM6 is equipped with Sony’s HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e and Integrated Processor V2. Each earbud is fitted with an 8.4mm driver unit featuring a soft edge for bass reproduction and a rigid dome for high-frequency extension.

Both also contain 4x microphones, an increase from three in the prior model, and include an Adaptive Noise Canceling Optimizer that continuously evaluates external noise and fit conditions. The system is designed to compensate for sound leakage caused by imperfect ear tip seals.

Sony has introduced new Noise Isolation Earbud Tips in four sizes. The earbud housing is 11 percent slimmer than its predecessor and shaped to better conform to the inner ear. An updated ventilation structure is intended to reduce internal noise from movement and chewing.

Audio processing is supported by dual processors with enhanced DAC amplification and 32-bit compatibility.

The earbuds support Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme upscaling, 360 Reality Audio, a 10-band EQ via the Sound Connect app, head tracking, and Background Music Effect. Sony said it consulted mastering engineers Randy Merrill, Chris Gehringer, Mike Piacentini, and Michael Romanowski during sound tuning.

Call functionality includes bone conduction sensors, dual microphones with AI beamforming, and AI-based noise reduction per earbud.

Connectivity improvements include antennas that Sony reports are 1.5 times larger than those in the previous generation.

The WF-1000XM6 supports LE Audio and provides up to eight hours of playback, with 24 hours total when using the charging case. Qi wireless charging is also supported.

Apart from the earbuds, Sony also brings a Sand Pink colorway of the WH-1000XM6 headphones.

It brings a vegan leather headband, soft cushion earpads, and a foldable mechanism for easy travel.

The headphones deliver flagship sound quality, featuring LDAC, DSEE technology, V2 chip, and the QN3 ANC processor for powerful noise cancellation. The XM6 offers up to 30 hours of playback via USB-C, with a 3-minute quick charge providing 3 hours of battery life.
