GAC AION UT EV Hatchback debuts in the Philippines: Stylish, spacious electric car with PHP 998,000 intro price

GAC Philippines launched the new AION UT, a fresh electric hatchback designed for modern city driving with surprising room for passengers and cargo.

Massive Space in a compact package

The new AION UT features a sleek, youthful look with bold owl-inspired headlights, a fastback silhouette, and modern pixel-style lights. Its compact size makes parking easy, yet it stands out with elegant lines inspired by Italian design. Available colors include eye-catching options such as Champs-Elysees Biege, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, or two-tone Rococo White with Emerald Green.

IT measures 4270 x 1850 x 1575 mm and has a 2740mm wheelbase. It weighs around 1,510 to 1670 kg.

Inside is a bright, lounge-like cabin that offers 905mm of legroom, which easily fits three adults. There are 24 smart storage spots throughout, and at the back is a 440-liter trunk which expands significantly when the rear seats fold down. This should make it ideal for groceries, weekend trips, or family errands.

The AION UT Elite uses a smooth permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 100kW or 136PS and 145NM of torque. This setup provides responsive acceleration perfect for stop-and-go city traffic and quick highway merges.

It runs on a safe 47.1kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery from GAC's Magazine Battery. DC fast charging takes a battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes. It supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), letting you power devices, gadgets, or even small appliances during outdoor adventures.

The car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/60 R16 tires, which supposedly deliver a balanced and quiet drive suited for Philippine roads.

It comes with an Advanced 360-degree camera driver assistance system, a High-strength Safety Structure, and an intelligent accident prevention system.

On the dash is a crisp 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, while beside it is the 14.6-inch touchscreen where users can handle navigation, music, and settings. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone connection.

GAC Philippines backs its vehicles with a growing network of around 30 dealerships nationwide and a dedicated parts warehouse in Manila. EV models come with an 8-year or 160,000km warranty  (and up to 8 years/200,000 km for the three electric systems). Owners also get two years of FREE roadside assistance.
