Tech giant HUAWEI has just globally launched the WATCH FIT 5 Series here in Bangkok, Thailand. |
| Meet HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro |
Coming from the WATCH FIT 4 Series last year, the new watches are the company's most refined "FIT" watches yet, which blend luxury design, advanced sensors, plenty of health-related features, and AI-driven coaching into a package built for both lifestyle and performance.
It comes in two models, the WATCH FIT 5 and the WATCH FIT 5 Pro—both will be available in the Philippines soon. There is no pricing yet.
Let's take a look at its higher-end version, the WATCH FIT 5 Pro.
Unboxing/Accessories
 |
| The box |
The WATCH FIT 5 Pro arrived with a familiar square box with the watch itself inside, followed by the proprietary charging cradle and the paper documentation. That's it.
There is no power brick included, as this is just a low-powered device that you can charge in any charger available in your home.
Build Quality/Design
 |
| Look at the FIT 5 Pro |
Basically, it is even more impressive and looks more sophisticated than my personal fitness watch that I purchased last year, the WATCH FIT 4 Pro.
The most sophisticated FIT-branded HUAWEI watch yet
It arrived with the familiar squarish form factor and still has a titanium alloy bezel. The frame is 7 Series aluminum.
 |
| Mic and speakers |
But, HUAWEI said that it has 15% better scratch resistance, surface hardness, and double the wear resistance, solidifying the company's claim that durability is one of their major priorities for this watch.
Moreover, it has 5 ATM water resistance with a 40-meter freediving certification.
 |
| Strap and buttons |
Not only that, the version with the Orange strap is said to be specially engineered with oil resistance, reduced weight, and improved breathability. It is also available in White and Black colorways.
Amazing comfort, breathability
So far, the Orange strap version I am currently using is the most comfortable and breathable watch strap that I have ever tested. It is skin-friendly, washable, and sometimes I even forget that I am wearing it.
The body also nice luxury crown design, a metal button, and bezel oiling. It is generally slim and lightweight as well. The ceramic part with sensors underneath also feels comfortable to the skin.
In front, it has a slightly larger and clearer 2.5D curved sapphire glass-protected 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with an 83% screen-to-body ratio, 1.8mm narrow bezels, and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. Thanks to its flexible 1 to 60Hz refresh rate, it's more power-efficient than its predecessor.

Tons of features to try
 |
| Built for sports, health, and fitness |
I have yet to test some of its features, but this watch is loaded with a wide array of fitness and health features.
For sports and fitness, the Pro packs a dual-band L1+L5 Sunflower antenna GPS for pinpoint tracking, advanced fall detection, and workout modes optimized for both beginners and seasoned runners
 |
| Mini workouts (panda) and Diabetes risk |
It even introduces mini workouts targeting 11 body parts, guided by a cute animated panda.
I don't play golf, but it has dual golf modes with access to 17,000+ course maps worldwide.
I will never do this, but those who need it may also enjoy its 40-meter freediving certification.
On the health side, HUAWEI adds blood glucose risk assessment (Diabetic Risk Study, promising more accurate long-term monitoring) and pulse wave arrhythmia analysis. It also has obstructive sleep apnea monitoring and an upgraded sleep suite with Nap Recap.
HUAWEI also highlights that it has an AI workout analysis engine, which covers nearly a hundred sports and tailors insights based on your health data and training plans. It even has app support for pickleball players.
Other smart features include voice notes and screen-off payments support, like for GCash. Yes, you could also use this to control music and even answer calls.
It runs on HarmonyOS 6.1.
Quick thoughts
I am genuinely enjoying my first week with this watch.
The build is undoubtedly engineered for durability, the comfort level is top-notch, and the design is Apple Watch-inspired but slimmer and lighter with smaller bezels for a more immersive viewing experience.
I've been trying it to monitor and help manage my sleep, stress level, and quick outdoor runs, and it delivers. The mini workouts are also fun to reduce stiffness after hours of sitting, the GPS is very accurate, and the battery is solid for a watch with a TON of features.
Overall, I am interested in testing its non-invasive blood glucose risk assessment (diabetes risk study), NFC GCash support, and its other sports modes and apps for racket sports like pickleball, among others.
Watch out for our full review.
