Lenovo Legion Y70 2026 goes official

Lenovo has officially re-entered the gaming smartphone market with the launch of the Legion Y70 in China, marking the company's return to the segment since the Legion Y90 debuted in 2022. 

The new device is offered in two colorways: Ice Soul White and Carbon Black. Furthermore, it has an IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance ratings for added protection.

The Legion Y70 is built around a 6.82-inch BOE Q10 OLED panel with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate supported by LTPO adaptive refresh rate technology. The display is rated for up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness and carries Dolby Vision certification.

Under the hood, the device is powered by 3.8GHz 3nm Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM operating at speeds of up to 9,600 Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage. 

Configuration options include 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 16GB RAM variant with 512GB, and a higher-tier model with 1TB of storage. 

To manage thermals, Lenovo has integrated a 5,500 mm² vapor chamber cooling system, which the company claims can lower CPU temperatures by as much as 7 degrees Celsius under sustained loads.

The Legion Y70 houses an 8,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and bypass charging functionality. Lenovo states the cell is engineered to sustain long-term capacity through up to 1,200 charge cycles.


For imaging, the rear system consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide lens with a minimum focus distance of 2.5cm for close-up photography. 

The front camera is a 32MP unit for selfies and video calls.

Other features mentioned are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Connectivity features are WiFi 7, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM.

On the software side, the phone ships with Android 16 running Lenovo's Tianxi AI 4.0 interface.
