vivo T5 Lite 5G launched: 6,500mAh battery, Dimensity 6300, and 6.74-inch 120Hz LCD

vivo has launched the T5 Lite 5G in India, a new budget smartphone that emphasizes durability and battery life over display resolution.

The device comes in two color options, Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue, and places a strong emphasis on build quality. The handset weighs 209 grams and measures 8.39mm in thickness.

It carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, along with MIL-STD-810H certification, indicating it has passed specific military-grade tests for drop and shock resistance. 

On the front, the T5 Lite 5G sports a large 6.74-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.

The design and display

Powering the device is MediaTek's Dimensity 6300, a 6nm octa-core processor. It is offered in configurations with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with the option to expand storage further by up to 2TB via microSD card.

Battery life is a key focus for the T5 Lite, which houses a 6,500mAh battery. According to vivo, the battery is engineered to retain at least 80% of its original capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles. The phone also supports  USB-C 44W wired charging, which vivo says can take the battery from 1% to 50% in approximately 38 minutes.

For photography, the device features a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a 0.08MP secondary lens, while a 5MP camera housed in the display notch handles selfies.

Other notable hardware includes a small RGB ring light on the back panel for notifications, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

On the software side, the T5 Lite 5G runs Android 16 with vivo's OriginOS 6.0 on top.

The software includes several built-in AI features for tasks such as text generation and audio transcription, along with a Private Space feature for securing sensitive files.

The vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G will go on sale in India starting July 22nd through Flipkart, Vivo's official online store, and offline retail outlets.

It is currently available in India. No word yet for other markets at the moment.
