The Pulse 6 retains the transparent cylindrical design of previous models while adding an illuminated handle to the top. The speaker weighs 1.49kg and measures 131.7 x 264.1 x 106.4mm, with the handle intended to make it easier to carry.

The transparent casing houses a 360-degree LED lighting system that syncs to audio playback. JBL says users can select from 16 lighting patterns through the JBL One app, which also offers basic EQ controls.
Meanwhile, the speaker carries an IP68 rating, indicating full protection against dust and the ability to withstand submersion in water.
The audio system consists of a 30W RMS woofer and a 10W RMS tweeter, for a combined output of 40W. JBL lists the frequency response range as 42Hz to 20kHz.
Additionally, the speaker also incorporates an algorithm JBL calls AI Sound Boost, designed to analyze music in real time to reduce distortion at higher volumes.

The speaker is powered by a 34Wh battery rated for up to 12 hours of playback, with an optional Playtime Boost mode adding roughly two additional hours. It supports 15W USB-C charging, with a full charge taking about 4.5 hours. Additional features include a low-light mode and a timer-based Sunset Mode.
On connectivity, the Pulse 6 supports Bluetooth 6.0 with SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs, as well as Auracast for pairing with compatible JBL speakers.
It also includes a built-in DAC and USB-C port for lossless audio playback from Mac or Windows computers.
