PS5 Pro price jumps to PHP 64,995 in the Philippines

Gaming is more expensive now than ever

More gaming consoles are appearing on local shelves at higher prices as a global memory shortage continues to affect the market, and Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro is among the latest to be affected.

The console, previously listed at PHP 56,950, is now priced at PHP 64,995 on DataBlitz—an increase of roughly PHP 8,000. The listing is for the 2TB digital edition of the PS5 Pro.

The standard PS5, meanwhile, is priced at around PHP 40,000, though it remains out of stock at the time of writing.

Sony had announced the price adjustment back in April, and it has now taken effect in the Philippines.

To recap, the PS5 Pro offers a 67% improvement in GPU performance over the standard model, along with 28% faster memory. 

It also features enhanced ray tracing and AI-powered upscaling through Spectral Super Resolution, as well as PS5 Pro Game Boost, which extends backward compatibility to more than 8,500 PS4 titles.
