HUAWEI gets strong traction in China's AI chip market

HUAWEI bared this figure as it disclosed new details about its flagship Kirin 9050 Series, the first mass-produced chip using its proprietary LogicFolding architecture.

The group said it was able to pursue mass production of the new Kirin 9050 Series, thanks to China’s robust electronic supply chain.

The new chip design integrates over 50 million hybrid bonds and improves transistor density by 53.5 percent.

Aside from this, a Chinese media outlet said that HUAWEI has been testing its next-generation Kirin 2027 processor.

HUAWEI continues to bring innovation to its home soil, particularly its Ascend AI chips receiving more traction in China as the US imposed limits on its processors.

In the first six months, the firm shipped 572,000 AI accelerators, almost double from 300,000 a year earlier. This already captured a 28 percent share in China's data center AI chip market, based on data from research firm IDC.
