Closed after a year

Manny Pay, the digital payments app launched by former senator and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, will cease operations on November 10, roughly a year after its debut.

An advisory displayed within the app informed users of the shutdown date and asked them to withdraw any remaining balances by then.

The platform went live on November 1, 2025, first as a payments service before developing into a full e-wallet. Users had cited its quick transaction processing and the variety of cash-in channels, including over-the-counter options, as strengths.

The company had set a goal of 100,000 users by the end of 2025. The app's Google Play listing currently shows more than 500,000 downloads. However, download counts alone do not indicate how many people created accounts, used the app regularly, or carried out transactions, and the company has not released those figures.

Even as the current service winds down, Manny Pay's social media accounts have hinted at a successor, referred to as "Manny Pay 2.0."

The pages have not said what features the new version would offer or what will happen to the existing app. A post dated October 12 said the team had been developing something related to paying, sending money, and managing everyday needs, with more information to follow.

Online commenters have speculated that Pacquiao may be preparing additional fintech projects.

Manny Pay is operated by 7th Pillar Integrated System Corp., a technology company that Pacquiao also chairs. The firm received its Operator of Payment System registration from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in April, a status that allows it to introduce other payment systems in the future.
