MyPhone creates a lot of phones but this one in particular exceeded my expectation when it comes to entry-level phones. An octa-core smartphone that will not hurt your wallet and delivers. If you are looking for a budget phone with powerful hardware then I suggest you this phone. Let's take a look and why you should consider this phone.

Display Quality
|
5 points of multitouch |
One of the reasons why I like MyPhone My33 is because of its display. Thanks to HD IPS (294 ppi), The user-interface looks great and clear for an affordable phone. The display is crisp that the smoothness of font and icons. One thing i don't like is the thickness of the bezel on the side gives its users viewing experience limited. Viewing angles are good and you can watch YouTube videos with convenience as a result. I was also able to get a rare 5 points of multi touch that makes my touch quite impressive.
Sound Quality
MyPhone has its own Music app that works like the default Android Music Player. It features an audio effect setting where you can choose what suits you best and a "shake to switch" also.
As I said before, the speaker is located at the back that affects the sound once you put it down. I installed Spotify and tested its speaker to see if its good and i found out that even if you turned the volume to 100%, it does not distort which is great however, it is as not loud as like my phone (Samsung Note) and a little tinny sounding.
The headphone out on the other hand has decent quality and loudness. As expected coming from MyPhone, it's flat and balanced sounding. If you want to add more flavor to your audio, there's also an equalizer. The 3.5 mm jack output is located at the top of the phone for your little privacy.
Call quality and mic is pretty good for the price as well.
Battery Life
|
Impressive battery life! Better than all 2,500 mAh powered phone we tried yet |
The best reason why I consider this one the best is the ability to stay longer than others. A 2500 mAh that can stay longer than you expect from that kind of battery. Throughout my time with My33, I always have battery left in the tank. I did use this phone like normal everyday use with Wi-Fi on, Facebook, playing Youtube Videos, browsing Internet, taking calls and texting and i am pretty much impressed with the battery. I don't know if its the battery or their own modified Android OS but it does not matter to me because this is grade A for me.
Camera
|
The most affordable phone with Manual camera controls? |
MyPhone My33 is equipped with a 13 MP AF w/ LED flash. The camera is quite impressive in taking normal shots in both day and night. It has a great color reproduction and does it with its simplicity. You can just take take out your phone and shoot things without a hassle. However, if you want to take better photos, the app does have installed presets for what you need like night shots and night shots. There is also a professional setting wherein you can manually adjust the cameras settings according to your preference. It also comes with auto-focus as well.
On the other end, the front-face camera does have a flash for selfies unlike its sibling (My32) and does it job impressively. The selfie camera that got my attention is "wide selfie" that is similar to panorama. It's great that they have added it for bigger and wider shots for selfies.
Performance
|
Antutu and Geekbench score |
MyPhone does not cut back on My33 specs - 1.4 GHz MT6592M octa core processor that comes with Mali 450 as GPU. Smartphones usually go for 1 GB RAM but they have upgraded this one to 2 GB giving more room for multitasking. The performance of this phone is outstanding given that this cost 4,999 Pesos only.
I tried playing Asphalt 8 and I can see lags at some points but unnoticeable most of the time. It is still recommended to end other applications when playing heavy graphics games such as Real Racing 3 however, these are really not a big issue for day to day gaming. After playing for 30 minutes, it gets noticeably warm. Nevertheless, it is a great phone for everyday use.

MyUI without app drawer |
MyPhone has its own video app also and I want to see if it can play so I copied a 1080p movie and tested, it is a little bit laggy.
Pros - Impressive performance, long battery life, great camera quality, front camera is equipped with a flash, build quality (Faux leather at the back), Double tap to wake up
Cons - Speaker placement is bad, default app arrangement (not in alphabetical order), lots of unnecessary apps(bloatwares)
Verdict
For an everyday phone with extra activities, this one is recommended. For the price of under 5,000 Pesos, this exceeds what you expect for an entry-level phone. It does things for your everyday need and does not have to worry that much about battery life.
