TECNO POVA 8 launched: 8,000mAh battery, Dimensity 7100, and 50MP Sony LYT-600

Following the teaser, the TECNO POVA 8 5G officially launches with massive battery capacity.

The 1st device from POVA 8 Series

The device measures 165.66 x 78.46 x 8.8mm, weighs 225g, and features a durable design that includes a rear-facing, round-shaped Alive Matrix Display. 

This customizable interface responds in real time to music playback, notifications, and user interactions, and supports approximately 30 widgets.

In terms of durability and audio features, the smartphone carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and complies with MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards.

The features

Up front, the smartphone features a 6.76-inch FHD+ IPS display with a resolution of 2344 x 1080 pixels and a 91.29 percent screen-to-body ratio. 

The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of up to 950 nits in High Brightness Mode.

Under the hood, the POVA 8 5G is powered by a 2.4GHz 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor built on a 6nm process. 

It is available in configurations providing 6GB or 8GB of RAM, up to 8GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. 

TECNO also said that the performance is sustained during intensive tasks using its integrated 14,689mm² VC cooling system.

The device is powered by an 8,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.

At the back, its camera system features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor alongside a light sensor. A 13MP camera is located on the front for selfies. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording video at up to 2K resolution at 30fps.

For network performance, the device includes support for 20 5G bands to ensure long-term, high-speed connectivity.

Finally, the POVA 8 5G runs on HiOS 16, an operating system based on Android 16.
