Unboxing / Accessories

There's really nothing much inside. Just a short USB to micro USB cable flat cable and some paper docs aside from the power bank itself.

Build Quality / Design

Brushed plastic construction with curvy corners

Coming from the usual solid metal build of the rest of ZenPower power banks, ASUS opted to use plastic with ZenPower Slim.

Construction is decent, but it's not metal anymore.

It would have been better if ASUS used metal to make it more solid and premium. Don't get us wrong, construction is still decent though.

Design-wise, it's one of the slimmest around at just 8.3 mm thick. We also liked that it doesn't have sharp edges due to its rounded corners. It also has brushed like finish and some glossy paint job to make it look very sleek.

Overall, the ZenPower Slim very pocket-able which can easily fit in your back pocket and small bags.

Performance

Most of the phones we have in our arsenal has 3,000 mAh of battery or larger. It simply means that the 3,000 mAh of battery of this power bank is just enough for 1 full charge from 0 to 100 percent.

It has compromises in battery capacity and charging speed because of the size.

The ZenPower Slim was also able to recharge our Huawei P10 Plus with 3,750 mAh and LG G6 with 3,300 mAh of battery with around 60% and 75% of power respectively.

Speaking of charging speed, this power bank isn't the fastest around. It only has 1A of output which can charge your phone at around 2 to 3 hours.

Charging speed of the power bank itself is also quite slow at around 2 hours 30 mins to 3 hours for a 3,000 mAh battery. It has 1A of input only.
The torch!

In case you need light in the dark, it has a bright type of torch that can be activated by double tapping the power button.

Pros - Very slim and sleek profile, bright torch, light indicator
Cons - Plasticky build, battery capacity is very small, charging speed is slow (input and output)

Verdict

The ASUS ZenPower Slim is the power source and torch for those who need a very slim and stylish power bank. At least it's 3,000 mAh of battery is good enough to give you some juice if your device is running out of power.

However, we won't recommend this for the heavy users. 3,000 mAh of power is just too small for those type of users. Go and check other ASUS power banks like the regular ZenPower.

It's currently on sale exclusively at Lazada Philippines for PHP 499.
