Samsung seems to be extending their support for their older devices as the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5 may be in line for an Android Oreo update.

Information has surfaced at T-Mobile's development page that the carrier "and the device manufacturer (Samsung) has agreed to support a new software update." This is great news for people who are perfectly happy with their devices if this pushes through. They are going to be enjoying the upgrades Oreo has like better battery management and security improvements.

There has been another instance where information like this has been leaked. If you remember, a few months back, Samsung customer representatives have confirmed that the Galaxy S6 will get the coveted Oreo update with one even confirming a February roll out date.

Take this with a grain of salt and pepper if you will as Samsung has not yet confirmed their commitment to the said update roll out for their 2015 flagships.
