In China, OPPO has quietly unleashed a new smartphone dubbed as the A1. It reminds us of the OPPO A83, but with bigger RAM and ROM size.

In particular, the new OPPO A1 still sports the metallic looking body with a 5.7-inch S-IPS panel with the trendy 18:9 screen aspect ratio. It now has 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and 3,180mAh battery.

At the back, there's a single 13MP primary shooter and an 8MP selfie shooter with fixed focus in front. Like the A83, it also has OPPO's speedy face unlock tech.

The exact SoC that OPPO used for this phone wasn't mentioned, but we suspect that it is MediaTek's 64-bit Helio P23 octa-core processor with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU found on the A83 and other OPPO devices.

The new A1 will come in cherry red, dark blue, and white colors. OPPO will sell it in China for CNY 1,399 (PHP 11.5K) starting April 1.
