Computex 2018: ASUS Reveals the New Vivobook S15 and S14 Ultrabooks
The update for ASUS's Ultrabook lineup is finally announced in Computex 2018 in Taiwan. These are the new and compact Vivobook S15/S530 and S14/S430.

These are going to lightweight laptops with great performance powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPUs. The Vivobook S15 will have a 15.6-inch three-side NanoEdge display while the S14 will have a 14-inch version of the same display.

The NanoEdge display are the firsts in the VivoBook series. It has a 86% screen-to-body ratio for the S15 while the S14 has it at 84%. It promises great color reproduction and wide-view tecjnology for optimal viewing experiences even at extreme positions.
Aside from the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPUS, these laptops will also have an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 discrete graphics, up to 16GB of RAM and a dual storage system with the Vivobook S15 able to go up to 512GB SSD and 2TB HDD combo.
In terms of design, the Vivobook S15 and S15 broke off from the usual black, silver or white colorways. ASUS designed these laptops with the principle of "bold is beautiful". They have new and eye-catching colors including Firmament Green, Star Grey, SIlver Blue, Gun Metal and Icicle Gold. Firmament Green will also have textured surface around the keyboard while Icicle Gold will have a brushed finish.

These laptops will also have the ErgoLift hinge to make long typing projects more comfortable. This automatically tilts the keyboard by 3.5 inches when the laptop is opened to have a familiar desktop keyboard feel. It also allows more airflow to pass through around the underside of the laptop's chassis for better thermals.
In terms of I/O ports, both the S15 and S14 will have a USB Type-C port, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output and a microSD card reader. All of the ASUS Vivobooks is said to have high-quality batteries that promises a battery life and longevity that is up to 3x longer than Li-Ion batteries. It also has fast charging technology that enables users to charge from low battery to 60% in just 49 minutes.
