Intelligent Home ecosystem for Apple

Apple is expected to hold a product launch event focused on smart-home devices on Tuesday, according to the latest edition of Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman, which details what the company may announce.

HomeView hub

Apple’s long-anticipated smart-home control hub, reportedly named HomeView, is expected to come in two designs. The standard countertop model would feature a metal speaker base and be offered in space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. A wall-mounted version would be available in space gray and silver.

Both models are said to use Apple’s A18 chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e. Earlier reports indicated the device would have a 6-inch touchscreen. It is reportedly set to include a limited selection of Apple’s own apps and will not support an App Store for downloading additional ones. Shipping is expected to begin in mid-November.

Apple is also expected to introduce an updated HomePod mini powered by the S10 chip, which is used in the Apple Watch Series 10, Series 11, Watch SE 3 and Watch Ultra 3. The speaker is reportedly set to be offered in pink, white, green, blue, and midnight.

Apple TV

The company is also expected to release an updated Apple TV streaming box with the A19 chip and a redesigned remote with a built-in speaker.

The new HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to begin shipping on October 30.
