The MSI GS65 arrived in a black box with a golden MSI gaming logo and MSI bag with regular inclusions inside. Inside are the 180W Slim adapter and the unit itself.

Finally, MSI has shifted their design when it comes to thier thin-and-light laptop. The GS65 is an instant stunner since it makes a sophisticated notebook with a simple all black metal chassis and gold accent on the side of the back panel. The MSI Gaming logo is also designed with a golden accent.

Its dimensions are 357.7 x 247.7 x 17.9 mm and weighs 1.88kg only. It's the most slim and lightest gaming laptop from MSI we've seen. For the first time, it does not have the red LEDs all over, instead, it has gold accent.

You can also tilt the GS65 up to 180 degrees.
It has a golden yellow backlit keyboard. The TouchPad is wide-enough and has golden accents on around it.

Both sides of the laptop has ports on it. On the left you have WLAN (Ethernet), 2x USB 2.0, 1x Mic-in, and 1x Headphone-out (HiFi) ports. Meanwhile on the right you have, 1x HDMI, 1x USB 2.0, 1x Type-C, 1x Mini-DisplayPort, and charging port.

The display panel's edges are not that sharp and the body is made of smoothly brushed metal.

Although MSI GS65 has only 15.6-inch display, its slim bezels made a wider and immersive screen display. Its 144Hz makes a vibrant visual paired with 7ms refresh rate. It can go awfully bright.
Vibrant display!
GS65 runs on Windows 10. MSI’s True Color 2.0 produces color gamuts that meet 100 percent of Adobe RGB and close to 100 percent of sRGB standard. It also supports game-specific color modes as well as anti-blue light modes.
Color accuracy is very nice!
MSI GS65 is definitely making its own name when it comes to an immersive display.
Battery
It's amazing how a gaming laptop with a slim profile and light body can go up to almost 8 hours of moderate usage! Maybe because it has no any LED lighting on the back panel and that helped in saving the battery.

Charging time takes a bit over 2 hours.
Audio Quality
MSI GS65's speaker is not that loud. It has two speakers on two different sides underneath the device. It is equipped with two woofers. I wish MSI packed GS65 with louder speakers.
The mic has nice clarity without any issues when I tried to do a casual recording.
Camera
This laptop is equipped with an HD webcam. As you can see it captures a grainy photo but is still acceptable.

Of course, as expected, GS65 scored high on a benchmark test! This laptop being one of the world's first 144Hz near bezel-less device, it is expected to be fast and seamless to use.
I always use the laptop with a lot of tabs opened with folders and Adobe Photoshop; but switching to any of these did not even lag for a second. Its fingerprint scanner is always fast and snappy when unlocking! And it's another option to secure the device.

MSI GS65 is equipped with the latest Coffee Lake 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor with GeForce® GTX1070 GPU.
MSI’s new Gaming Mode automatically tunes up system components to perform best within a game.
The thermal management of the GS65 is very nice. With straight hours of using it, the device does not get alarmingly hot.
Overall, MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8RF is an immersive and has a very satisfying performance. All it needs to improve is the audio.
