ASUS ROG Phone will finally arrive in the Philippines on October 28

ASUS will finally bring the flagship ROG Phone to the Philippine shores soon. The Taiwanese firm will launch it at ESGS this October 28, 2018.

The ROG Phone is the first gaming-centric smartphone of the company that was first introduced last June. It is equipped with an edgy design, 2018 flagship worthy specs, and "cool" gaming features.

6-inch AMOLED screen

It is equipped with a 6-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz and 1ms response time. Inside, it runs with the Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor with Adreno 540 GPU, 8GB RAM, and up to 512GB storage. The 512GB storage is even expandable via microSD card.

It also has a 4,000mAh battery that can be charged the usual way from the bottom charging port or a secondary charging port at the left side.

ASUS also introduced the Hypercharging technology that promises 0 to 60 percent charge in 33 minutes for the ROG Phone.

On the camera part, it goes with a 12MP f/1.8 Sony IMX363 + 8MP f/2.0 OV8856 w/ Tri-tech AF, Dual Pixel, 120-degree wide-angle, OIS, EIS, and dual tone LED flash. In front, it has an 8MP f/2.0 sensor.

It also has dual stereo speakers with smart amp and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device also has WiFi, 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, fingerprint sensor, and gyroscope sensor.

It runs with Android Oreo with a custom skin which has "X" mode which frees RAM, prevents apps from eating apps, avoid interruptions, and boots processes.

ASUS claimed that it even has an Ultrasonic sensor for AirTriggers as shoulder keys that can be mapped with on screen buttons from games.

The ROG phone also comes with Aeroactive Cooler that clips on the side charging port that provides external cooling to the phone out of the box.

Other accessories that are sold separately include: Desktop Dock that allows you to game like you would on a desktop by connecting to a monitor, keyboard and mouse and TwinView Dock where it adds a second screen to expand gameplay with unlimited possibilities when supported by game developers. The ROG phone can also be docked GameVice Controller and stream to a larger display.

Now, the only missing info is the price. In other parts of the world the starting price of the ROG Phone with 128GB storage is RMB 5,999 (around PHP 47.3K). The 512GB model costs RMB 7,999 (around PHP 63K).
