Chinese smartphone giant XIaomi launches the Mi MIX 3 flagship device in the Forbidden City in China. They tout it as a balance of tech and art.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has a notch-less 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED display running at 2340 x 1080 FHD+ resolution with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9.
It has an extremely slim bezels that gives it a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. They achieved a notch-less by having their own sliding front facing camera that is hidden when not in use. Their patented slider is not by motors but by neodymium magnets that allows the whole display to slide down.

In terms of specs, the Mi MIX 3 has a Snapdragon 845 AIE octa-core processor with Adreno 630 GPU. It can also have up to 10GB of RAM which is one of the biggest available right now. It can also have up to 256GB of storage as well. It is also capable of Qi wireless charging as well.

The Mi MIX 3 has achieved a DxOMark score of 103. It achieved this with a dual rear camera setup consisting of 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.4 telephoto sensors. It is the same sensors used in the Mi 8. It has multi-frame noise reduction, AI light metering, AI image stabilization and calibration. It also has a 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording and 960fps slow motion video capture capabilities.

The selfie camera setup has a combination of 24MP Sony IMX576 + 2MP sensors. It has Super Pixel technology that is used for low-light selfies that combines information of four pixels into one large pixel that improves clarity of the image. As expected. the 2MP sensor serves to capture depth information for the AI bokeh effect.
The Mi MIX also has a dedicated AI button at the left side of the phone. This is a first for Xiaomi. This will wake the Xiao AI voice assistant. It can understand 7 Chinese dialects and English and can automatically adjust according to the user's voice.
The Mi MIX 3 will be available in jade green, sapphire blue, and onyx black. It also has a special Palace Museum/Forbidden City edition as well.
The 6GB RAM/128GB ROM variant is priced at CNY 3,299, 8GB RAM/128GB ROM is priced at CNY 3,599, 8GB RAM/256GB ROM is priced at CNY 3,999, and the 10GB RAM/256GB ROM Palace Museum/Forbidden City Edition is priced at CNY 4,999.
Local availability in the Philippines along with more information will be announced closer to the local launch date.
