Apple iPhone X vs OPPO Find X - Camera Comparison

The X from USA and the X from China have faced each other for a camera comparison!

Apple iPhone X features a dual camera setup of 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.4. with OIS for better stabilization in most lighting conditions. It also has laser AF, PDAF, and quad LED flash.

Meanwhile, the OPPO Find X sports a dual rear camera as well of 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX519 + 20MP f/2.0 Sony IMX376k sensors. It also has PDAF and an LED flash.

In front, iPhone X has 7MP f/2.2 selfie camera with screen flash while the Find X has a 25MP f/2.0 Sony IMX576 sensor with 3D AI Beauty Technology and AI Portrait Mode.

Selfie cameras

On paper, the OPPO Find X's selfie camera seem to beat the Apple iPhone X's 7MP. 

But let these camera comparisons speak for the winner! 

Scene 1 - Daylight Outdoor

Both did well in this scene but you can easily notice that nicer colors of Find X over the iPhone X. Although iPhone's colors are natural, its overall image looks washed. The Find X's color look better and has better exposure. The Find X also took the wider shot. Find X - 1 point

Scene 2 - Daylight outdoor 2

We tested another shot of a daylight outdoor scene and for this one, Apple iPhone X has the better exposure and details over the gloomy and contrasted shot of the OPPO Find X. The Find X has the wider shot again, but the iPhone X has the better dynamic range.  iPhone X - 1 point

Scene 3 - Indoor

For this scene, both also captured this very nice indoor mural. However, iPhone X's colors look more vibrant and sharper over the Find X's. Although the latter has a wider photo. iPhone X - 2 points

Scene 4 - Close-up (Food)

  

The Apple iPhone X's shot of this food is obviously better than the shot of the OPPO Find X. It captured the natural color of the mini Sans rival cake, with nice depth of blur and sharpness.

The OPPO Find X's shot made the Sans rival cake look yellowish. iPhone X - 3 points

Scene 5 - Indoor Low light

We're focusing on this cute restroom signage and Apple iPhone X and OPPO Find X captured it well but showed a different color. iPhone X got the reflecting colors of the red wood ceiling while the OPPO Find X has more of a greenish color. We're giving each of a point for this scene. iPhone X - 4 points/Find X - 2 points

Scene 6 - Low light

Both smartphones captured the natural colors of the resort villas. However, the vibrant colors and sharper details on the OPPO Find X make it get the point for this scene. Find X - 3 points

Scene 7 - Daylight selfie

For this scene, both did well. But, the vibrant color, nice contrast, brightness, and sharpness of the iPhone X's selfie shot look greater than the Find X's. iPhone X - 5 points

Scene 8 - Indoor selfie 1

OPPO Find X obviously wins this scene. It has the nice details and exposure over the pinkish and overexposed and badly reddish shot of the Apple iPhone X. Find X - 4 points

Scene 9 - Indoor selfie 2

It's easy to notice how pale I looked with the selfie shot by OPPO Find X. The Apple iPhone X's shot captured my natural color with nice exposure and sharp details. iPhone X - 6 points

Scene 10 - Outdoor low light selfie

Although half of my face is being stricken with an artificial light here, both smartphones did not do very well in shooting a selfie under low light. Both have different ways of capturing but has the similar sharp-soft details and exposure.

We're giving them each a point. iPhone X - 7 points, Find X - 5 points

Verdict

Both smartphones put a close fight of 7 is to 5 in favor of Apple iPhone X. The winner proved to be the better selfie shooter, outdoor, indoor, and close-up. Meanwhile, the OPPO Find X showed a nice shooting too under daylight, low light, and low light selfies. 

Overall, the Apple iPhone X and OPPO Find X are equipped with great cameras!
