First up, the 15.6-inch FX505DY and 17-inch FX705DY models. The laptops comes with a quad-core Ryzen 2 3550H APU with a Radeon 560X discrete GPU. Both of these laptops will have 1080p FreeSync displays. Refresh rates will be different with the 15-inch going up to 120Hz and the 17-inch model up to 60Hz.

They are also designed with durability in mind as ASUS is promising it to survive falls and "extreme environments". Both also goes with up to 32GB RAM and  512 PCIe SSD or 1TB Fireuda SSHD storage.

Both are also equipped with RGB keyboards with a full numpad, 7.1 channel virtual surround sound, onboard ethernet, HDMI 2.0 output and 3 USB ports round out the rest of the features.

ASUS partnership with AMD may be the former's effort to drive their performance-to-price ratio as their Intel/Nvidia powered current gen offerings are criticized for poor performance for the price. Since AMD is more budget friendly prices for the TUF laptops may go down without any significant hit on the performance.

Price and availability

ASUS has yet to reveal the price for these new TUF gaming laptops. However, they said that it will be launched some time in Q1 2019.
