#MWC19: Energizer releases Power Max P8100S SD855 5G foldable phone!

Aside from the Power Max P18K Pop with 18,000mAh battery, Energizer also showcased the Power Max P8100S at MWC 2019.

It's a high-end foldable smartphone! Yes, it is a foldable smartphone from a company not named Huawei and Samsung.

The hinge design

On the outside, it has a 6-inch FHD+ resolution screen an an 8.1-inch screen with FHD+ resolution inside.

However, Android Authority noted that the hinge design doesn't look that great. It reminded them of a "jetway that looks like an accordion and extends to the airplane". It could be a cost effective-design that has us a bit of concern on how well it will hold up over time.

The rest of the specs are powerful! Inside, it runs with the Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, Adreno 640 GPU, 256GB expandable storage, and massive 10,000mAh battery capacity.

It also comes with a 48MP + 12MP dual-camera setup and a 24MP selfie camera. Moreover, it is one of the first with 5G connectivity!

Price and availability

Interestingly, the Power Max P8100S is priced at just EUR 850 (around PHP 50K), the cheapest foldable phone yet.

Normally foldable phones are priced in the over PHP 100K range.
