OPPO formally announced a partnership with Qualcomm to launch their first 5G-ready smartphone.

OPPO's first 5G smartphone
With Qualcomm, OPPO will be one of the first phone makers in the world with a 5G powered smartphone.
OPPO's first 5G smartphone will feature the 7nm Qualcomm Snapragon 855 processor. This SoC solution could be paired Qualcomm's X50 modem to accommodate 5G.

Both companies believes that 5G is the future of the smartphone industry. 5G could be used for super fast 4K or 8K video download or upload, 3D video calling, 5G cloud gaming, multi-player AR/VR gaming, and more.
Other details regarding the actual phone are yet to be revealed. But since it is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 2.84GHz clock speed and Adreno 640 GPU, we can expect it to be extra fast.
During the event, OPPO also announced the OPPO 5G Landing Project. It is an initiative where OPPO will have an in-depth collaboration with carrier partners like Swisscom, Telstra, Optus- and more to promote 5G products and services.
